Hi, my name is Mari Anne and I’m so happy that you stopped by to visit my little hideaway.
I’m a North Jersey city girl turned country girl, not by choice, but I have grown to really appreciate the slower pace in life. My husband and I built our dream home 15 years ago when his company moved out to west Jersey. I cried for the first two years but have grown to love the beauty of the farms and open spaces. It has turned out to be a great place to raise a family. When we built our home we knew that in order to fix it up the way we wanted we would have to become very busy DIYers. Through the years we have upgraded every room in our home, built a deck, finished our basement, and did all of the landscaping. We are not professionals but enjoy the challenge and the anticipated end result of each of our projects.
I am the mom to two busy boys Nicholas 14 and Matthew 11 and two crazy dogs. Ringo is our rescue dog and Roy is our the spoiled Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. We need a home that is both boy and doggie proof, hence, the lack of pretty white furniture in our home.
I worked in NYC for years until my boys were born then I became a stay at home mom until I went back to work p/t as a substitute teacher. Mike works in Corporate America, so this means he is not home a lot or is working from home. I have learned to do a lot of DIYing on my own and have to say that I am pretty proud of my accomplishments.
This is our boy Ringo. He is our rescue pup such a sweet guy.
And this is our spoiled hyperactive Cavalier Roy.
In my free time, I love to read books, blogs and any decorating magazine, redecorate my home, paint, garden and dream about the beach. I love anything blue, old, country, elegant or beachy. I started this blog as a way to chronicle my decorating shenanigans. I’m obsessed with garage sales, thrift stores, roadside treasures and garden centers.
Thank you so much for following along. I hope that you can find some creative inspiration here.
